  While the product is cheaper than the full stone versions it stains and scratches very easily.
  
  We had two installations one in the kitchen the other in the butlers pantry.
  
  We noted two weeks after wiping the counter with a cloth little chips started flaking off the edges. Despite the sales man saying "you can cut knifes on the surface and will destroy the knife not the granite top" We never did this, but noted that after staining and trying to keep clean you could see imperfections in the granite top itself.
  
  We booked the installation of the butlers pantry, I mentioned to the sales man that a couple of chips had occurred. He explained that this sometimes happens when dust is not completely removed during the installation process and sometimes come loose from the adhesive, but was happy to fix for free
  
  The Contract plan had a standard L Shaped design with edges on the two faces. He Stated that as its a simple job should only take a week or so to install.
  
  Three weeks later I contacted them, they couldn't find the paperwork initially, and then organised it to be installed. The salesman came had a quick look, said no probs, the installer will install 4pm wednesday.
  
  The installer came at 8am not 4pm, as i had organised to work the morning so I could be there, however my wife let him in and did the job.
  
  When I can home I noted the installation had been done incorrectly with a side edge, that would have obscured the Fridge enclosure.my Wife stated the installer said that he was only going to fix the chips if we paid extra.
  
  I contacted the showroom to inform them that the work was not done correctly. The lady was supposed to get someone to contact me that day.
  
  I called again the next day and stated that I hadn't got a call back and the lady was at first unhelpful. I stated that if they weren't prepared to contact me to resolve i would take this to Consumer Business Services, which she replied, don't threaten me.. I just stated the work was not as per the contract and needed to know how they were planning to rectify it.
  
  The installer aggressively came back to the site stating, "well no one told me there was only two edges"
  
  He removed the edge was a free cut on the grinding wheel, this crooked rough cut line, and he stated you will probably have to silicone over that
  
  I then mentioned the chips and he become defensive " that only happens when there is impact damage"... I stated we have only ever wiped it with a cloth, and I explained that his sales man stated sometimes there are glue adhesion problems.
  
  HE replied "well that's a lie you have obviously done something to it."
  
  He begrudgingly filled 4 of the chips, however I circled an imperfection in the top near the edge, which hasn't broken away yet, but you can see the chip is starting to lift, did nothing with that.
  
  All anyone wants is good job, I understand sometimes installations go wrong, but coming into my house denying all and being hostile and angry only shows the professionalism of this company.
